Winter Operations
Snow Removal Citizen Request
We are working to enhance the winter operations in the City of Lebanon and are evaluating how winter operations will be conducted in the future. Your input is requested. As you are aware, there was a proposal last year to re-align plowing operations and possibly even the discontinuance of sidewalk plowing by the City. That was only a proposal. The City will continue to perform winter maintenance operations to include sidewalks.

However, due to resource challenges (staff and funding) we need to reevaluate how this will be done. Plow routes will take longer to accomplish, low priority streets and sidewalks may remain snow covered longer, and there may even be some areas that would be plowed long after the storm has ended.

Streets and sidewalks will be assigned priorities. Priorities will be assigned based on the following criteria: For Streets, primary arteries, school bus routes, hills and dangerous corners and intersections. The sidewalks will be rated in a similar fashion.

Your input is requested and will be reviewed during our evaluation of snow routes and priorities. Please look at your neighborhood. Are there sidewalks that could wait until after the storm? Are there areas that need extra or additional attention? Please use the form below to let us know.

Anyone interested in seeing how plowing is done and would like to ride along are welcome to do so when winter operations resume. Please use the form below or contact us at Public Works 448-3112 and we will provide the necessary forms and schedule a ride time for you.
